Do you find yourself easily derailed by thoughts like “No one will ever pay me high rates” or “I don’t have the skills it takes to make it as a virtual assistant?"

The mind is a powerful thing and as you’re beginning your entrepreneurial journey, you should start to become aware of the thoughts that creep into your head and keep you from being as confident as you could be.

On today’s episode of The Support Squad, I’m sharing How to Overcome 3 Common Mindset Blocks.

Tune in to hear:

  • How to stop projecting your feelings about money onto your clients
  • A simple way to shut down Imposter Syndrome
  • Why creating systems and processes in your business will catapult you to CEO status

#1 “Clients can’t afford my high rates.”

In my experience, when virtual assistants have it in their mind that clients can’t afford their high rates, it’s usually because they are projecting their own story about money onto their potential clients.

We all have a unique history with money. The way we were raised and the struggles that we’ve gone through can really color the way we interact with money. The truth is: only your clients know whether they can afford your services, and we shouldn’t let our own feelings of lack stand in the way of getting paid high rates.

It’s important to get your feelings about money to neutral, especially when pricing your services or going on a sales call. You can start to do this by getting in touch with your money story and healing the places where you feel a sense of lack or fear.

#2 “I don’t have the skills it takes to make it as a virtual assistant.”

When we’re feeling like we don’t have the skills it takes to be successful as a virtual assistant, it’s usually due to imposter syndrome. We’re all familiar with that beast, right? It’s that nasty little voice in your head that tells you that you are a fraud and you don’t what you’re doing.

Here’s the thing: yes, as you’re getting started, you might see experienced virtual assistants offering complex services, but keep in mind that there are tons of valuable services that you can offer even without a ton of training or experience.

Take some time to perfect one valuable skill and get excited about it! If you can be proud of just one of your skills from the very beginning, you’ll have a great foundation to continue to grow and learn.

#3 “I’m a messy and inefficient business owner.”

As we’re building our businesses, things can change and evolve quickly! It’s easy to become overwhelmed, especially when you don’t have any systems or standard operating procedures set up in your business.

But telling yourself that you’re a messy and inefficient business owner is going to erode your confidence and keep you from going after those high-quality clients.

If this is the story you’re telling yourself, I encourage you to choose 1 or 2 areas of your business each week to develop a solid process around. Start by cleaning up the things that feel really messy. Building systems will help you to move from an amateur mindset into full-on CEO status.
