In the online space, it can be pretty easy to look at people that we perceive to be doing the same things as we are and providing the same services as us and begin comparing ourselves to them.

As a virtual assistant, I dealt with that feeling of comparison and imposter syndrome a lot when I was first building my business. It led to me getting stuck and confused when it came to taking important steps to move the needle forward.

As I’ve moved into mentoring and coaching virtual assistants, I’ve come to learn that the other people in my field that are also mentoring and coaching are not my competition at all. Instead, we are part of a broader community in which we are serving one another and lifting each other up.

No one has shown me that more than women like Jessa Glover and Bria Hash, two incredible leaders in our industry who are joining me on the podcast today.

As we talk about in this episode, when I first found out that Jessa and Bria were launching a community for VAs, I felt that initial feeling of competition. I mean, I also have a community for VAs! So I wasted about a minute wondering if their community was going to be better than mine or the ridiculous idea that either one of us was taking anything from the other.

This feeling obviously quickly subsided when I remembered that we all have the same mission. To build a collaborative and vibrant community of virtual assistants that support each other in what can be a pretty lonely space.

You have met Jessa on the podcast before, she’s an intuitive business coach who helps her clients build insightful and intentional strategy for their businesses and social media platforms.

Bria Hash is new to The Support Squad Podcast. She's a sales strategist, business mentor, and author that helps African-American service providers to generate consistent income in their online businesses. Her mission is to help everyone that she touches with the desire to make the transition from simple freelancers to powerful owners. Bria started her company 4ourty as a virtual assistant to course and information product creators. After finding much success Bria has created industry-shaking programs like The Melanin Marketing Mentorship, The Anti Cliche VA Mastermind & Cultural Course Creators Mastermind. Bria continues to share her message of vision, integrity, intention, and sales on her platforms.

I’m thrilled to invite Jessa and Bria on the podcast today to join me in a conversation about what community over competition actually looks like including how it led them to create the National Association of Virtual Assistants and curate the virtual summit “Inspire to Innovate” which begins next week.

I’m also excited to announce that I’ll be joining the incredible panel of experts that Bria and Jessa have brought together for their Insired to Innovate Virtual Summit to discuss Utilizing Systems to Manage Client Expectations and Create Clarity.

Inspired to Innovate is a 4-day digital summit for startup & seasoned virtual assistants ready to start or scale right away with a shorter learning curve & expert community support.
