Jessica is a former 3rd grade teacher who started as a social media manager and general VA in 2019 but quickly found her love of all things tech. 

 She got started with Kartra by working with a client who used the platform and immediately became interested in the marketing and funnel capabilities. She's worked with many clients over a year, helping with sales page & web design, platform migrations, membership/course set ups, email marketing, funnel creation, and more. 

 She has a strong desire to teach virtual assistants how to use Kartra too so they can grow their business and make more money by specializing in this high-level service.

What led you into the online space and into becoming the Kartra specialist that you are now? What has that journey looked like?

It's been a wild ride. I actually learned about being a virtual assistant through this webinar. I ended up buying a course and it was a big investment, something I had never really done before. 

 I was a teacher at the time and I had a stable job, but I knew there wasn't a lot of potential for growth. Getting into this VA course opened my eyes to this whole new world, but it took me a long time to actually make it happen.

 I had my second child and after that, I actually taught online for a little while, but that wasn't working for me either because I was teaching kids in China and I had to get up at like three or four in the morning to teach. 

 I took another look at the virtual assistant course and decided it needed to happen. I can have my own schedule. I can make as much money as I want. So I jumped in. 

Could you tell us what Kartra is and how you offer it as a service?

I got started with Kartra by working with a client. I was a tech VA,  so I was really helping everybody with whatever systems they had.

Kartra is this huge all in one system that a lot of entrepreneurs, especially coaches and course creators have been moving to because it has so much capability. It has websites, landing pages, e-commerce, and it has a great email marketing system. It’s a really great, all-in-one system that people can use to save money because they don't have to pay for all of these separate platforms. Having everything in one place makes your life a lot easier. 

What kinds of clients do you feel are drawn to Kartra services? 

All my clients are coaches who also have courses, so it works really well. I help them set up a lot of like membership sites. 

 I have clients who are constantly like, “I have this new idea” and I'm like, “Okay, what do we need to do?” I take what they have in their brain and make it happen with the tech. It’s so much fun. 

Did you take any training to learn Kartra or is it something that you learned on your own? 

I started by working with a client. She didn't really know how to do all this tech stuff and I was this techie VA. I started learning just by doing and slowly started figuring out more and more. 

 I definitely made mistakes because it is a complicated system sometimes. There are a lot of different components that you have to think about and piece together. 

 And then I was like, you know what? This is a system that VA's need to learn because it has so much potential. There are so many different services you can offer with it. Not only that, it’s also a system that is newer, but it's growing rapidly.
