The term “Unicorn VA” is often used to describe a virtual assistant who is multi-talented and well-rounded. And it sounds pretty magical, right? I mean, what could be negative about being great at all the things? 

The truth is, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword.

When I look back at the beginning of my VA journey, I remember thinking that my biggest selling point was that I could do pretty much anything a client asked me to do, from techy stuff to the more creative aspects.

Unfortunately, it led to building a pretty unfocused business, where I was at my clients' every whim and still getting paid as a general virtual assistant. 

It wasn’t until I became a podcast manager that I found a way to use my unicorn superpowers in a way that inspired and challenged me, and gave me more say in how I ran my business.

I remember when I first helped a client launch their podcast. I was so lit up because I realized, “Wow, this allows me to use my creative skills, my organizational skills, my tech skills, and my strategic skills.”
