 Stepping away from the title “virtual assistant”

I have really niched down to providing HoneyBook services and I'm getting ready to launch VIP days. That “VA” connotation tends to have a lesser value. It shouldn't, but to set yourself up as a pro and an expert, you really need to get away from that virtual assistant title, because you are more than a virtual assistant. 

Now that I'm focusing solely on HoneyBook services, Stacey's VA Services just didn't resonate anymore. I kind of had an epiphany yesterday. Sweetly Simplified Systems just popped in my head!

How have Facebook groups played a role as you’ve become more specialized?

Facebook groups have been a complete game-changer. I never really had a lot of success with Facebook groups before when I was doing my digital marketing services, but it's really hard to set yourself apart in that niche. 

You really need to find that one thing that sets you completely apart from everyone else and hone in on that, get your name around it, and get yourself known for that.  

So that's what I did. When I started seeing the need for these HoneyBook services, I primarily started with the HoneyBook Community Facebook group, which is a group that HoneyBook created for people to go in and ask questions from other community members. 

When people would ask questions, I would just share how I have used HoneyBook to solve that problem or offer tips and tricks that I've learned. It came completely from a place of wanting to serve. At that point, I didn't even have a desire to offer Honeybook services. And then in that process, people were like, “Well, can you help me? Like just, can you just do it for me?” And I was like, “Sure, let's give it a try!”

Tips for engaging in Facebook Groups 

Search keywords related to your services! Those posts will pop up and then you can engage in those. At first I was like, “I don't have time to sit here and scroll through every virtual assistant/online business owner Facebook group. 

Pick three or four Facebook groups that your ideal client is in and start just engaging. If it’s a group that allows you to share tips and tricks, take advantage of it. Don't put a pitch in there at all, because honestly the information you put out will speak for itself and make you stand apart.
